New Zealand Government Extends AI Support for Small Businesses

The New Zealand Government has extended its AI Advisory Pilot until 30 June 2027, providing expert help to 120 more small businesses. The pilot, launched in January, has already seen 150 businesses participate. Delivered through the Regional Business Partner Network, it offers co-funded AI roadmaps and implementation, up to $15,000. Small Business and Manufacturing Minister Cameron Brewer says the pilot fills a gap for small business owners who see AI's potential but lack the time or expertise to start. The pilot's success has led to increased support, with the Government backing it with more places and time. Brewer emphasizes that AI is not just for large corporations, but can benefit local businesses to cut admin, work smarter, and focus on their core activities. The Government's plan to help small businesses with new technology is part of its effort to fix the basics and build the future.
