What happened
On September 15, 2026, members of the GCO of Savien launched an armed incursion in the locality of Nan Paul, located in the 7th communal section of Marmont, in Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye. The attack, which occurred on a market day, caused widespread panic among residents and traders.
After opening fire in Nan Paul, the assailants moved towards the locality of Bijon. According to collected information, the incident resulted in one civilian fatality and three injured among the population.
The attack led to population displacement towards several localities in Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye and the communes of Ennery and Gonaïves, where affected individuals sought refuge in perceived safer zones.
