Cypriot CEO Andreas Shiamishis Wins Extel’s 2026 Mid‑Cap Oil & Gas CEO Award

Andreas Shiamishis, the chief executive of HELLENiQ ENERGY, was named the top CEO in the Mid‑Cap Oil & Gas category for 2026 by Extel’s Emerging EMEA Executive Team survey. The award follows his appointment in 2019, when he steered a comprehensive transformation of the group: the company rebranded from HELPE to HELLENiQ ENERGY, shifted its business model toward the energy transition, and broadened its portfolio to include renewable energy sources. Under his leadership, the group expanded from a traditional refinery into a modern energy group with a growing international presence and a leading role in Southeast Europe’s energy security. The recognition also coincided with HELLENiQ ENERGY’s inclusion among the “Most Honoured Companies” in its category and top marks for its Investor Relations team. The honor reflects Extel’s assessment of management credibility, financial stewardship and capital allocation, and it underscores the sustained progress of Greek‑based companies and their executives on the global stage.
