What happened
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) has released a preliminary analysis on the potential humanitarian impacts of the El Niño phenomenon in Honduras. The analysis, conducted with humanitarian agencies and partners, identified 75 municipalities in Honduras that are at high risk due to the El Niño alert.
Sectoral tables were used to systematize the results of the analysis, which were then presented to government counterparts.
The document aims to support intersectoral discussion, guide preliminary territorial prioritization, and identify potential lines of preparation, anticipatory action, and coordinated response to humanitarian impacts associated with the El Niño phenomenon.
