Hong Kong Opens Three University Town Campus Sites for Application

The Hong Kong Government has launched an application process for three university town campus sites in the Hung Shui Kiu (HSK) University Town area. The sites, covering a total area of around 26 hectares, are available for eligible post-secondary institutions to apply for. The application deadline is December 31. The Government will provide loan arrangements to support campus construction. A Designated Vetting Group, led by the Chief Secretary, will review proposals and decide on site allocations and loan approvals. The Government aims to develop the Northern Metropolis University Towns, including HSK, San Tin, and Ta Kwu Ling, to foster integrated development of education, technology, and talent. This move is part of the First Five-Year Plan 2026 Policy Address, which aims to drive Northern Metropolis development and consolidate Hong Kong's position as an international education hub. The Government encourages institutions to plan their development comprehensively according to the positioning and functions of different university towns.
