Flint Schools Install New Filtration Systems, Testing Confirms Lead Removal

In 2018, Elon Musk donated $480,350 to fund water filters for Flint Community Schools. The district has now installed new filtration systems across all schools and its administrative building. Previously, students relied on bottled water because of lead and bacterial contamination concerns. Independent testing confirms the new systems effectively remove lead and harmful bacteria from the water supply. Drinking stations are now available in every school, though bottled water will continue to be provided throughout the school year to ensure safety and convenience for students and staff.
