Indian PM Modi to Attend EU Summit in December as Trade Deal Nears Finalization

The visit follows the EU and India’s completion of negotiations on a free‑trade agreement and the signing of a security and defense partnership in January. While the trade deal—covering markets for 2 billion people and more than a fifth of global GDP—has not yet been signed, Modi’s presence could provide the opportunity to finalize the agreement.
