Zimbabwe Integrates Starlink LEO Infrastructure with Terrestrial Fibre Networks

Zimbabwe has begun integrating its satellite telecommunications infrastructure with Starlink's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation. This development follows an official state visit to Japan, which led to the establishment of the country's primary satellite telecommunications system. A twelve-month roadmap has been conceptualized to integrate Starlink's LEO infrastructure with Zimbabwe's terrestrial fibre networks. Key components of this roadmap include the establishment of domestic gateway teleports and Q/V band licensing. A Harare Point of Presence will also be established as part of this initiative. The integration aims to enhance the country's telecommunications capabilities and improve connectivity for its citizens.
