Cloudflare Launches Automatic Remediation Policies for CASB
WHY IT MATTERS
By automating remediation, organizations can eliminate the hours‑to‑days gap between detection and action, reducing the window for data exposure and simplifying compliance reporting.
What happened
Cloudflare has added automatic remediation policies to its Cloudflare CASB, enabling security teams to trigger actions immediately when a new finding appears. The new engine, built on Cloudflare’s developer platform, queues detection events, matches them against user‑defined policies, and then runs remediation or sends webhooks within five minutes. Policies can revoke risky file shares, call third‑party APIs, or forward alerts to Slack, Teams, Jira, ServiceNow, Tines, or custom endpoints.
The feature extends the platform’s earlier manual remediation, which still required human confirmation, by automating the response loop. Cloudflare Workflows manage retries and rate‑limit backoffs, ensuring durable execution.
Logs in Cloudflare One record both policy changes and runtime outcomes, providing audit trails and compliance evidence. The update is available today for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace integrations that have read‑write permissions.
