Cloudflare Releases Open-Source Decision Models, Clef and Clef-Flash
WHY IT MATTERS
The release of Clef and Clef-Flash provides a new tool for developers to make classifications and help agents decide how to act, which can be used in a variety of applications, including customer support and security incidents.
What happened
Cloudflare has released two open-source decision models, Clef and Clef-Flash, which are designed to make classifications and help agents decide how to act. These models are capable of working over any set of inputs without constantly retraining and are hosted on Workers AI. Clef is currently the leader when evaluated against the Jev Decision Index, and the models are fully Jev-API compatible.
Cloudflare is also offering fine-tuning services to help customers tune Clef for specific workloads. The Clef models are enterprise-ready and produce strictly typed outputs, making them suitable for use in production environments.
They can be used in combination with Cloudflare's Large Language Models (LLMs) to take action. The models are available on the Hugging Face repo and can be fine-tuned using Cloudflare's fine-tuning platform.
