Yemen’s Conflict Drives Nearly 94,000 New Displacements, IOM Reports

Yemen’s ongoing conflict has pushed almost 94,000 people to flee their homes, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced on 14 September. New displacement figures total 93,864, with the most severe losses in Ta’iz and Lahj governorates. In Ta’iz’s Jabal Habashy district, 18,840 residents were displaced, and 9,966 left Al Ma’afer. Lahj’s Al‑Mudharibah district saw 16,464 people uprooted, while Tuban added 2,892 more. Additional movements were recorded in Aden, Al Hodeidah, Abyan and other Ta’iz districts, indicating the crisis is spreading. IOM and partners are on the ground, monitoring trends and delivering assistance. The organization urges immediate international aid to provide shelter, water and sanitation for the newly displaced families.
