Kaduna Governor Approves 2025 ASUU Salary Deal, Calls for End of Lecturers’ Strike
WHY IT MATTERS
The approval ends a prolonged strike, ensuring lecturers receive agreed salaries and allowing universities to resume regular operations.
What happened
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani announced that he has approved the 2025 Federal Government–ASUU salary agreement for lecturers in the state’s universities. The approval means the agreed salary package is now legally binding for KASU members.
Governor Sani also urged the lecturers to call off their indefinite strike, which has disrupted academic schedules across the state. The decision removes a major obstacle to the lecturers’ financial security and signals a willingness to resolve the dispute through the agreed framework.
With the salary agreement in place, lecturers can resume receiving their wages and the strike can be ended, allowing universities to restore normal teaching and research activities.
