What happened
The Cypriot labour ministry announced on Friday it will recruit 45 fixed‑term employees to advance the implementation of a new pension reform slated for early next year. Five social insurance officers will be hired at A8‑A11 grades, while 40 assistant insurance officers will fill A2‑A5‑A7 grades.
Contracts run up to 28 months. Officers must hold a university degree and will work in the Social Insurance Service office in Nicosia; assistants will be assigned to offices across Cyprus as needs arise.
Salary ranges are €24,500‑€45,800 for officers and €15,100‑€17,200 for assistants, reflecting civil‑service scales. The hires aim to provide the workforce required to execute the reform on schedule.
