The humanitarian situation in Lebanon remains precarious, with over 334,000 people displaced and unable to return due to security concerns, damage, and limited access to essential services. The ICRC's efforts aim to ensure that families can rebuild their lives with dignity, access basic services, and regain their livelihoods.
What happened
After months of hostilities, many families in Lebanon are returning to find their homes damaged, services disrupted, and sources of income lost. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is scaling up its response to address immediate needs, support service restoration, and promote early recovery and livelihoods.
Key challenges include limited access to healthcare, economic losses, and disrupted water services. The ICRC has supported over 70 medical facilities, provided essential supplies, and maintained critical infrastructure.
Livelihood assessments are underway to help families restore their sources of income and regain independence. The ICRC continues to support families searching for missing relatives and engages in confidential dialogue with parties to the conflict on civilian protection and essential infrastructure.
