What happened
A 20‑year‑old man was arrested in Nicosia after police investigated a burglary that spanned from June 25 to August 30. The victim, a 43‑year‑old woman, reported that €1,360 in cash and about €3,500 worth of jewellery were taken from her flat.
During questioning the suspect admitted to the thefts and also confessed to stealing €3,000 from a safe in the same building. He is slated for re‑arrest on the second case and will appear before the Nicosia district court for a remand order.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
