Pennsylvania Bans Many Vapes and E-Cigarettes, Allows Six Manufacturers to Sell Approved Products
WHY IT MATTERS
The new law aims to protect the health of Pennsylvania citizens, particularly youth, by restricting the sale of unapproved vaping products. The law's enforcement will be crucial in preventing the sale of potentially harmful products and ensuring compliance with the new regulations.
What happened
A new law in Pennsylvania has banned many vapes and e-cigarettes, with only six manufacturers approved to sell their products in the state. The law requires the state attorney general to maintain a registry of approved products, and businesses that sell unapproved products will face fines. The six approved manufacturers include Juul Labs, R.
J. Reynolds Vapor Co. , Blue Nine, Custom Technologies, NJoy, and Schwartz E-Liquid.
The law was designed to ban products that have not been evaluated by the FDA, and penalties for businesses include fines and license suspension. Philadelphia consumers and businesses will need to be aware of the new law and its enforcement, as the city has been an early adopter of restrictive vaping policies.
