Marriott Expands Safari Camps in Tanzania's Serengeti
WHY IT MATTERS
Marriott's expansion into safari camps in Tanzania's Serengeti offers travelers a unique opportunity to experience the region's incredible wildlife, with nightly rates starting at $1,967 and a range of amenities included in the nightly rate.
What happened
Marriott is set to open its latest safari camp, Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection, in November. Located on the traditional land of the Ikoma people, the camp will offer daily game drives into the Serengeti National Park. The camp features 18 tented suites, each with 775 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, decorated with natural materials and traditional crafts.
The main lodge was inspired by indigenous acacia trees and will feature a bar, shared lounging and dining spaces, and a private boma for firelit sundowners and dinners. Guests will enjoy sumptuous beds, outdoor showers, and a range of amenities, including a spa, pool, and fitness center.
Nightly rates start at $1,967, and bookings are currently open for January 4, 2027, onward. Marriott is offering an opening rate special from January 4 through March 27, where guests can earn 25,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points on eligible bookings using the code S2449.
