New Zealand Government Backs Regional Tourism Initiatives

The New Zealand Government is investing $5 million in six regional tourism initiatives to attract international visitors and support local economies. The funding will support collaborative campaigns to promote regional experiences, including food, wine, and hospitality, in the quieter months of spring 2026 and early summer 2027. The campaigns aim to encourage visitors from Australia, North America, and China to stay longer, travel further, and support local businesses. The initiatives will be led by various regional tourism organizations, including RotoruaNZ, Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, and Visit Hurunui. By showcasing regional experiences, the campaigns aim to spread the benefits of tourism growth to more communities around New Zealand.
