European Space Agency Creates Musical Simulation of 2026 Total Solar Eclipse

The European Space Agency (ESA) has released a musical simulation of the 2026 total solar eclipse. The simulation, created in collaboration with the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA-CSIC), uses nine parameters extracted from a Stellarium simulation of the eclipse. These parameters include the visible sunlight, the colour of the light, the weight of the darkness, and the solar corona. The music is an artistic interpretation of these data, with the data determining the behaviour and the scale and pattern being artistic choices. The simulation is available on the ESA website, along with information about the agency's live broadcast from the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre in Spain.
