What happened
The Logistics & Telecommunications Cluster (LTC) has released a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) outlining common logistics services for humanitarian responders in Nepal. The SOP explains how to access these services, the conditions for their use, and the objective of maintaining an uninterrupted supply chain for relief items.
The services are designed to fill operational gaps and act as a last‑resort option when other providers are unavailable or capacity is insufficient, but they are not meant to replace existing logistics capacities or compete with the commercial market. The services will remain available until 15 October 2026, with a possibility of extension, though they may be partially or fully withdrawn earlier due to changes on the ground, funding constraints, or a shift in identified needs.
Updated versions will be posted on the Nepal Operations page, and requestors must consult the latest SOP before submitting requests. The LTC reserves the right to reject or hold requests if field conditions prevent proper implementation.
