New Zealand Appoints Sarah Wroe as Associate High Court Judge

New Zealand has announced the appointment of Auckland barrister Sarah Elizabeth Wroe as an Associate Judge of the High Court, effective 14 September 2026. Wroe, a 1997 Cambridge graduate and former barrister in Bristol, moved to New Zealand in 2006 and was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in 2011. She has held senior positions at Martelli McKegg and a specialist litigation firm before returning to practice at Eldon Chambers in Auckland, where she focuses on commercial and civil litigation, property disputes, and sports law. Wroe also teaches advocacy and property law and served as an Appeals Commissioner for the New Zealand Olympic Committee in 2025. She will sit in Auckland, adding her extensive domestic and international experience to the High Court’s bench.
