Kano State Launches Initiative to Combat Gender‑Based Violence in Agriculture

The Kano State Government, together with the African Enterprise Challenge Fund and the Development Research and Projects Centre, has inaugurated a project focused on preventing and responding to gender‑based violence (GBV) against women in the agricultural value chain. The launch, announced at a dedicated meeting, marks the first coordinated effort in the region to address GBV within farming communities. The partnership aims to integrate GBV prevention and response mechanisms into agricultural activities, ensuring that women who work in farming and related sectors receive protection and support.
