Western Nepal Floods Displace 750 Families, Kill Over 20

Heavy rains triggered floods and landslides in Western Nepal, destroying houses and buildings and forcing nearly 750 families to leave their homes. Government officials report more than 20 deaths. Roads and bridges were damaged, hampering relief efforts. Save the Children in Nepal is distributing emergency aid, including shelter kits with tarpaulins, blankets, sleeping mats, rope, and hygiene kits, to affected communities. The organization also provides child‑friendly learning spaces and psychosocial support to displaced families. The disaster follows a month‑old flash flood in Northern Nepal that killed at least 1,400 people and left about 5,700 missing.
