UN Aid Throughput Drops 7% in Gaza; Logistics Cluster Coordinates 8,004 Pallets from Jordan

UN and INGO aid throughput fell 7% below the monthly average in August, with 2,152 trucks offloaded at Gaza crossings. Ashdod handled 42% of the cargo, Egypt 23%, and Jordan 19%, while the West Bank and Israel routes supplied the remainder. The average offloading rate was about 85% of manifested trucks, but Egypt experienced the highest operational challenges, with 29% of trucks returned, delayed, or cancelled before dispatch. During the week of 16 August, the entry window for dual‑use cargo was extended from one to two days, and the Logistics Cluster coordinated additional shipments. From Jordan, 353 trucks carrying shelter, food, and WASH items were moved, delivering 8,004 pallets to Kerem Shalom/Karem Abu Salem via Cluster‑managed transport. In Gaza, 12,569 pallets of inter‑agency humanitarian cargo were collected from KS/KAS and stored in temporary facilities. On 30 August, a fire was reported at an Egyptian Red Crescent warehouse in Al Arish, though damage remains unconfirmed. An airstrike on 23 August damaged two temporary storage sites; all staff were safe and no cargo was lost.
