South Korea Pledges $5 Million to WFP for Food Aid to 100,000 Palestinians

The Republic of Korea has donated USD 5 million to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to deliver cash‑based assistance to more than 100,000 conflict‑affected Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Under the second phase of the REACH initiative, USD 4 million will provide digital cash through e‑wallets to nearly 45,000 people in Gaza, while USD 1 million will supply electronic food vouchers to 56,000 people in the West Bank, giving families flexibility to purchase food and essentials. The contribution builds on the first phase, during which Korea supplied USD 15 million to help WFP assist over 620,000 people in Gaza and 130,000 in the West Bank. Across both phases, Korea has committed USD 20 million, enabling WFP to support roughly 850,000 people amid rising food insecurity, unemployment, and displacement in Palestine.
