FedEx Truck Stole Over $963,000 Worth of Graded Cards Near PSA HQ
WHY IT MATTERS
The theft underscores the growing risk to valuable collectibles during transit and may prompt stricter security protocols for shipping companies and grading firms.
What happened
Last week, more than 200 packages of graded Pokémon and sports cards were stolen from a FedEx truck parked outside the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA) headquarters in Santa Ana, California. PSA, one of the world’s largest third‑party card grading firms, reported the loss to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The majority of the missing packages are estimated to be worth over $963,000, though the total could rise as PSA verifies which specific cards were taken.
The incident highlights vulnerabilities in the shipping of high‑value collectibles and the need for tighter security measures.
