Peacock Raises Prices 18% in Fourth Hike Since 2023
WHY IT MATTERS
The hike reflects Peacock’s shift to profitability but raises subscription costs for consumers, potentially affecting viewership and competition among streaming services.
What happened
Peacock, the streaming arm of NBCUniversal, announced an 18 percent price increase on its three subscription tiers, marking the fourth hike in four years. The ad‑supported Select plan will rise from $8 to $9 per month, the Premium tier from $11 to $13, and the ad‑free Premium Plus from $17 to $20.
Annual subscriptions continue to offer 12 months for the price of 10. The latest increase follows July 2025’s jump from $8 to $11 for the middle tier and $14 to $17 for the ad‑free option, after earlier hikes in July 2024 and August 2023.
Peacock launched in 2020 and has recently turned profitable.
