New Zealand PM and Foreign Minister to Attend 55th Pacific Islands Forum

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Foreign Minister Winston Peters will represent New Zealand at the 55th Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Leaders' Meeting in Palau. The forum aims to address the complex challenges facing the Pacific region, including overseas conflicts, economic uncertainty, and geopolitical competition. New Zealand wants a peaceful, prosperous, and resilient Pacific region, according to Luxon. The country has been prioritizing the Pacific through its Foreign Policy Reset, with high-level visits to all PIF countries and welcoming Pacific leaders to New Zealand. New Zealand will host the PIF Leaders' Meeting in 2027.
