Two Minneapolis Police Officers Shot in Downtown Incident

In downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday, gunfire erupted, leaving two police officers wounded in the shin and abdomen. The officers were among several victims, and the suspected shooter was reported down at the scene. The incident prompted a large police response, with state officials on the ground to support local law enforcement. Governor Tim Walz posted on X that state officials were present and would share more information as it became available, while thanking officers for ensuring neighborhood safety and expressing prayers for first responders. Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in nearby St. Paul also responded to the scene.
