PTAD Disburses N18.96bn to PHCN Pensioners, Clearing Back‑End Computation Arrears

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has released a total of N18. 96 billion to settle Back‑End Computation (BEC) arrears owed to 3,958 pensioners under the Public Housing and Construction Company’s Defined Benefit Pension Scheme. The latest tranche, amounting to N9. 476 billion, represents the outstanding 50 percent balance of the arrears. The payment completes the settlement of the outstanding BEC liabilities for the affected retirees. With the full amount now disbursed, the pensioners receive the benefits they were due, and the arrears backlog for the PHCN scheme is eliminated. The move underscores PTAD’s role in resolving long‑standing pension liabilities and restores financial certainty for the retirees.
