Samsung Eyes New Over‑Ear Headphones, Galaxy H1 Set for 2027
WHY IT MATTERS
Samsung’s return to over‑ear headphones signals a strategic push into premium audio, potentially reshaping competition in the high‑end wireless headset market.
What happened
Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app has revealed code snippets that point to a forthcoming pair of over‑ear, wireless Bluetooth headphones, dubbed the Galaxy H1. The move would bring Samsung back to the over‑ear market for the first time since the 2015 Level On, predating the company’s acquisition of Harman and other audio brands.
Industry observers say the H1 could be positioned to rival Apple’s AirPods Max. While the app’s connection‑status icons hint at the design, the final look and specifications remain unconfirmed.
Samsung is reportedly targeting a 2027 launch for the new headphones.
