Samsung Launches Galaxy SmartTag 3: Smaller, Longer‑Lasting Tracker with Cross‑OS Support
WHY IT MATTERS
The SmartTag 3’s cross‑OS compatibility and improved durability broaden its appeal, enabling more users to keep track of personal items across different smartphone ecosystems.
What happened
Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag 3, its third‑generation Bluetooth tracker. The new model features a compact squircle design and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
Battery life has been extended, and the device now supports cross‑operating‑system sharing, allowing iPhone users to track items alongside Android users. Unlike earlier models, the SmartTag 3 lacks a key‑ring cutout, so users must purchase a protective case to attach it to keys or a carabiner.
The tracker also introduces new tracking and software enhancements aimed at simplifying location sharing among friends and family.
