Cyprus supermarkets report that the cost of school supplies has remained unchanged from last year, despite a broader rise in retail prices. According to Andreas Hadjiadamou, executive secretary of the supermarket association, retailers are keeping prices steady by working with importers or sourcing goods from markets that are not experiencing inflationary pressure. The association’s recent shop visits found school bags, exercise books and stationery in high demand, with a wide range of options available at every price point. Supermarkets are also promoting cheaper and mid‑range items and offering loyalty points to shoppers. Smaller retailers now stock school necessities, expanding choice for consumers.
