Hong Kong Relaxes Eligibility for Seamless e-Channel at HZMB

Hong Kong's Immigration Department has relaxed the eligibility criteria for its Pilot Seamless e-Channel service at the Hong Kong‑Zhuhai‑Macao Bridge (HZMB) Hong Kong Port, effective immediately. Under the new rules, Hong Kong permanent residents aged 11 or older who hold a valid smart identity card and have used the port’s Passenger Clearance Building at least six times in the past 90 days can now enrol. Residents 18 and over may complete enrolment directly at designated e‑Channels, with the system automatically prompting them to opt in during clearance. Since the service launched on June 25, roughly 14,000 residents have enrolled and the port has processed over 100,000 trips. The Immigration Department will continue to monitor performance and may extend the service to other points and passengers.
