Cowboys Name Sam Howell as Backup QB
WHY IT MATTERS
This move could affect the Cowboys' preseason performance and overall quarterback depth, potentially impacting their chances in the upcoming season.
What happened
The Dallas Cowboys have made a move in their quarterback depth chart, naming Sam Howell as the team's backup quarterback after waiving Joe Milton III. The decision comes as the team makes room for free agent running back Emari Demercado.
This change may impact the team's preseason preparations, particularly in terms of quarterback play and depth.
The Cowboys will likely rely on Howell to fill the backup role, but it remains to be seen how he will perform in game situations.
