What happened
Spartan Fire, LLC has petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to approve noncompliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 for certain model year 2015-2023 emergency vehicles.
The vehicles in question are the Spartan Fire Gladiator and Spartan Fire Metro Star.
Spartan filed a noncompliance report on January 28, 2025, and subsequently petitioned NHTSA on February 18, 2025, for a decision that the noncompliance is inconsequential to motor vehicle safety.
