Spotify Introduces Playlist Notes, Allowing Users and Curators to Share Song Stories
WHY IT MATTERS
It gives listeners insight into why songs are chosen and encourages a deeper connection between curators and audiences, enhancing transparency and community engagement.
What happened
Spotify has rolled out a new feature called Playlist Notes that lets listeners add explanations and stories behind the tracks they add to their personal playlists. The same functionality will be available to editors who curate popular playlists, including the high‑profile RapCaviar list.
By providing a space for both casual users and professional curators to annotate their song choices, Spotify aims to make playlist creation more transparent and engaging.
The feature is currently live and can be accessed through the app’s playlist editing interface.
