Steam Launches Achievement Sets to Organize Game Rewards
WHY IT MATTERS
The new system streamlines achievement tracking, helping players focus on specific content and encouraging completion of DLCs.
What happened
Valve has added a new feature to Steam’s achievement system called “achievement sets.” The update allows developers to group achievements into distinct sets for a base game and its DLCs.
Players still unlock achievements through normal gameplay, but when they view their unlocked list, Steam will split the long list into the developer‑created sets. Each set has its own progress bar, and completing a set awards a visible “set complete” trophy.
The change is intended to make it easier for users to see what they’ve finished and to discover related achievements they can pursue next.
