Sudan: Humanitarian Crisis Deepens in Central Darfur State

A recent inter-agency rapid need assessment in Mukjar Locality, Central Darfur State, Sudan, has revealed alarming levels of humanitarian need. The assessment, conducted by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, found that 88 households, representing 884 individuals, are in dire need of assistance. The priority needs of these households include food, shelter, non-food items, health services, and access to clean water and sanitation. The severity of the situation is underscored by the fact that 78% of households reported severe food shortages, 76% lacked access to sufficient water, and 95% had no or limited access to healthcare. The assessment also highlighted the need for immediate protection and referral services, with 76% of households flagged for urgent assistance.
