The decision comes after the Federal Aviation Administration extended the airport's scheduling cap through October 30, 2027. This move leaves several Midwestern communities waiting for promised service as United continues to expand from its largest hub with new routes to leisure destinations and smaller western markets. The airline has instead chosen to focus on 12 leisure routes, prioritizing these over the original 10 regional Midwest markets.
