What happened
Several former China Southern Airlines Airbus A380s have been sent to the Mojave Air and Space Port in California, where at least four are listed as "aircraft in dismantle" by Jet Midwest. This suggests that their future lies in component recovery rather than returning to passenger operations.
The A380 was designed to remain in service for decades, but these airframes have reached a different destination. After China Southern Airlines withdrew its five-aircraft superjumbo fleet, the planes were ferried to the Mojave Air and Space Port and placed into storage.
The fate of these aircraft is now uncertain, with their potential reuse or resale unclear.
