RAF Deploys New Voyager Boom to Close Outsourced Refueling Gap

The Royal Air Force has unveiled a new Voyager boom system that fills a refueling gap the UK previously outsourced to the United States and France. Aerial refueling remains a cornerstone of sustained air power, enabling combat aircraft to stay on station for close air support and allowing transport aircraft to project forces over long distances without refueling stops. By bringing this capability in-house, the RAF can reduce dependence on foreign partners and enhance operational flexibility for future missions.
