National Geographic Releases 9/11: Reunited Miniseries to Mark 25th Anniversary

What happened
National Geographic, in partnership with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, has launched a three‑episode documentary miniseries titled 9/11: Reunited to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The series revisits the personal stories of several survivors, reuniting people whose paths crossed on that day to celebrate the bonds that formed then.
Director Julian Jones, who produced the 2021 Emmy‑winning 9/11: One Day in America, returned to direct the new series after noting the self‑lessness and everyday heroism he witnessed.
Jones and National Geographic aimed to bring survivors together to express gratitude, answer lingering questions, honor fallen comrades, and explore the psychological and physical struggles that have shaped their lives since 9/12.
