What happened
The Turkish Red Crescent Society has begun a $450,000 Dialysis Support Project in Mogadishu, Somalia. The program will provide 3,000 hemodialysis sessions over three months, giving each of 300 registered chronic kidney failure patients 10 sessions per month.
Each session is valued at $50, covering hospital treatment, logistics, medical consumables and dietary expenses. The project includes medical verification, beneficiary registration, digital transfers and monthly reconciliation to ensure transparent and traceable assistance.
The initiative aims to remove financial barriers and keep patients on uninterrupted treatment during a critical period.
