UNHCR Ethiopia Releases WASH Assessment Tool to Strengthen Services for Displaced Populations

UNHCR Ethiopia has issued a baseline assessment tool for water safety planning, marking a key step in measuring progress and identifying gaps in WASH services for forcibly displaced and stateless communities. The tool, developed with the IM unit, tracks milestones achieved by the country office and informs future interventions. In parallel, the organization has outlined a transition readiness table for different operations, ensuring that WASH facilities in woredas and host areas are integrated into regional water bureau and local water development office plans. UNHCR continues to mobilize funding and advocate for resource contributions from operating partners, aiming to sustain targeted humanitarian assistance and improve service delivery across the country.
