University of Cyprus Extends €20,000 Scholarship Program with Sievert Larsson Foundation

The University of Cyprus and the Sievert Larsson Scholarship Foundation have renewed a partnership that will award 20 scholarships totaling €20,000 to students who combine strong academic performance with financial need. The awards will be distributed by the University of Cyprus Student Welfare Association, which will evaluate candidates on academic and socioeconomic criteria. The renewal was signed by University rector Professor Tasos Christofides and foundation founder Sievert Larsson, with attendance from the foundation’s general director Christos Papoutsas and university welfare head Cleanthis Pissarides. The agreement reaffirms the long‑standing collaboration between the two organisations and reinforces the foundation’s commitment to equal access to higher education. By easing living and tuition costs, the scholarships aim to keep talented students on campus and allow them to focus on their studies and personal development.
