Hong Kong Seizes 5,900 Unregistered Pharmaceutical Items in Tsim Sha Tsui Raid

The Department of Health and Police Force seized more than 5,900 items of suspected unregistered pharmaceutical products and Part 1 poisons from two premises in Tsim Sha Tsui during a raid prompted by intelligence that the sites were offering injectable treatments with unregistered drugs. One location operated as a company claiming to provide medical health‑management services. The case remains under investigation, and the DH said it would not rule out further arrests. It reminded the public that injections must be performed only by locally registered medical practitioners or dentists and that any unregistered pharmaceutical product is a criminal offence under the Pharmacy & Poisons Ordinance, carrying up to a $100,000 fine and two years’ imprisonment. From 2021 to June 2026, the DH’s Drug Office handled 138 cases, resulting in convictions with maximum penalties of 10 months’ imprisonment or a $242,000 fine. The DH will continue enforcement actions and has sent letters to all doctors and private healthcare facilities to reinforce compliance.
