Venezuela Earthquake Response Update

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has continued its response to the earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, 2026. During the reporting period from September 17 to 23, IOM maintained management of four planned camps in La Guaira, strengthened inter-agency coordination, and expanded health and mental health services. Official figures indicate that 107 transitory camps remain operational, accommodating 23,901 people. IOM completed a comprehensive Mental Health and Psychosocial Support needs assessment across the four camps, and launched mhGAP training for first-line responders. The organization also expanded health service coverage through mobile outreach teams and field hospital services, delivering 531 health consultations. IOM continued supporting housing solutions through the housing repair pilot and strengthened coordination around possible relocation processes.
