OIM Sustains Multi‑Sector Relief in Venezuela’s Earthquake Camps

The International Organization for Migration (OIM) has maintained a comprehensive response to the June 24, 2026 earthquakes in Venezuela, covering August 28 to September 2. OIM managed four planned camps in La Guaira, coordinated inter‑agency efforts, and supported return and relocation processes. In Campo de Golf, OIM updated population records, confirming 330 residents in 118 tents—111 women, 121 men, and 98 children—providing a basis for service planning. WASH upgrades in Mare Abajo II included greywater drainage and a new community laundry. Health teams delivered 216 consultations, 142 in César Nieves and 74 in Polideportivo José María Vargas, while protection services offered legal guidance and referrals. OIM also distributed 550 water barrels, 521 tarps, 352 hygiene kits, 340 tool kits, 224 solar lamps, and 205 ropes, and supplied integrated kits to 320 families in Carabobo. The organization plans to finish drainage work, activate the laundry, and continue health, mental‑health, and protection services while keeping population data current to guide future returns and relocations.
