What happened
Tottenham Hotspur, a Premier League club, announced it has reduced its licensing costs by more than 85 percent after replacing its stadium’s VMware instance with Hewlett‑Packard Enterprise’s Morpheus VM Essentials (VME) virtualization software. The club moved its server, storage and networking infrastructure to HPE solutions delivered through the GreenLake hybrid‑cloud platform.
The transition is supported by VME and HPE’s OpsRamp software for hybrid and multi‑cloud environments, with HPE managing the hybrid‑cloud‑managed service.
Tottenham’s chief technology officer confirmed the switch to The Register, noting the club has not disclosed the specific VMware products or prior fees paid to Broadcom.
